Ajanta and Ellora: planning the caves

Ellora is about 30 km from Aurangabad and Ajanta roughly 100 km in the other direction, so most families split them across two days. Ellora is closed on Tuesdays and Ajanta on Mondays. Leave early for Ajanta, and make the Kailasa temple the highlight at Ellora.
